What is MySA?
MySA is our community online portal. As you transition into the school community, we want you to know that sharing your progress is important to us. Teachers and advisors are communicative and responsive to both students and parents. At Saint Andrew’s School, we've created a one-stop, all-inclusive communication vehicle for parents to know about their Scot's learning, progress, and academic performance. This communication tool is called MySA. If you are a new family, check out our Parent Zone to stay up-to-date with all the happenings at Saint Andrew's!
Does Saint Andrew’s have an app?
We do! It has a lot of great resources, including our school calendar, athletics schedules, announcements, news items, and more. Click here to learn more about everything you can do with our school app. You can download the app on Apple and Android.

Does Saint Andrew’s have an advisory program?
Students meet in Advisory/Chapel/Assembly every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Advisory is a program that nurtures student growth in academic and social/emotional areas. Boarding students will be assigned an upper school faculty member who is also part of the residential life program. A college counselor will be assigned to each student when they are entering their sophomore year of school or right away if they are a new junior or senior.
What is Chapel like at Saint Andrew’s? Is there chapel on the weekends?
Chapel is a community gathering held once a week for the entire Upper School and some Sunday evenings for our boarding students. Chapel attendance is required of all students and faculty. Chaplains plan the Chapel programs with inclusivity, creativity, and community building to enrich the students’ educational experience at Saint Andrew’s. Chapel is celebrated with sensitivity and appreciation of the religious diversity present on campus.

Who should I contact if my student has academic accommodations?

Does the school offer any tutoring services?
Saint Andrew’s offers a holistic approach to student support. A student’s advisor will work with students to help ensure they take advantage of all the support offered. Teachers are available for extra help before or after school and during resource periods. In addition, a writing and math lab is staffed by faculty throughout the school day. In addition, many resident life teachers are available during study hall, and math teachers are available Monday-Thursday during study hall for boarding students. If a student has a C or lower in any class, there is a restricted study hall requirement where students will receive close supervision during study hall. If a student is still struggling in a course, Saint Andrew’s School has a Tutoring Coordinator who can connect students with Saint Andrew’s teachers who offer tutoring services.
How and when do I register for classes?
For new students, course selection happens during the registration process in early April. You will receive an email and additional information from the Upper School in April.
-
All new students are required to complete the math placement evaluation.
-
If you choose one or more advanced courses on your course selection form, you must also complete an advanced course application for each course.
Students studying a world language must complete a corresponding language placement evaluation. However, students with no prior experience in their language of choice do not need to take the placement evaluation.
What opportunities exist for incoming students to get to know other SA students?
Students are introduced to the campus and other students during orientation prior to the beginning of the school year. There is also a club fair early in the fall where students can learn more about and join a variety of clubs. Additionally, many students meet new friends through sports and the fine arts.
Does Saint Andrew’s require summer reading or other assignments?
Yes. Each June, we publish a required summer reading list through MySA. Read daily, if you can — in a favorite chair, waiting for a plane (or in it), idling under a tree, or lounging on a beach. Although we expect you to read at least three books this summer, we trust you will seek and read more that appeal to you.
